About Layali Al Sham Restaurant

Nestled near Emirates Plaza in the lively Al Zahiyah district of Abu Dhabi, this restaurant offers a calm spot to enjoy Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors throughout the day. The menu features a variety of fresh, straightforward dishes like taboulah and fattoush salads, hearty soups including shrimp and mushroom, as well as shawarma wraps that many local diners appreciate for their fresh ingredients and balanced flavors.

Visitors often come for a casual meal—whether it’s a quick bite, a relaxed lunch, or a late-night option. The atmosphere leans towards cosy and unpretentious, with both indoor seating and a quieter, family-friendly environment. It manages to attract a diverse crowd ranging from university students and solo diners to families and groups looking to share small plates and enjoy live music from time to time.

Practical amenities like wheelchair accessibility, parking options, and multiple payment methods make it easy to visit, while the availability of halal options, vegan and vegetarian choices means it suits a broad range of dietary preferences. The mix of fresh salads, rich soups, and well-loved shawarma ensures there’s something for those wanting either a light meal or a more filling experience.

The environment is straightforward and functional, with a clean and comfortable feel, though some may notice a more reserved style of service. It’s the kind of place where the focus rests mostly on the food and letting the flavors speak for themselves, rather than on formal hospitality. For those looking to explore Mediterranean cuisine in a quiet, local setting, this spot in Al Zahiyah offers familiar tastes and practical convenience without fuss.

What Locals Say

Saad Altaf From Google 5

The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Middle Eastern food!

Countless shawarma places I've tried and THIS IS THE BEST. Not over reacting. The price point, freshly made, toasted wrap, pickles, and garlic sauce are all perfect. You have to give your order number at the window outside if you're not dining in. I've only tried the classic chicken shawarma, both normal and spicy. Sorry for the picture with bites, that's the real cross section.

Pak Fonz From Google 5

Delicious and generous. Lots tots of tables downstairs to enjoy Syrian delights. The friendly staff and the good food make this place a recommended one.

Saikhnaa From Google 4

Food was good, prices were very affordable, what drops a point for me though is that the place feels somewhat unwelcoming. Staff are very untalkative, no smiles, people feel somewhat sullen. Other than that, it was nice.

Samer Ghazal From Google 4

Layali Al Sham is a reliable choice for Mediterranean food. While some dishes stand out more than others, it’s a great spot to explore a wide variety of dishes, juices, and sweets.

Dmitri Kovalev From Google 5

Service was excellent! Food was delicious and so PLENTIFUL ( we thought we ordered a little but had a feast! Table was full of sides and compliments we didn’t order, all on the house, part of the dishes! I couldn’t believe how low the bill was after we devoured it all

Ravi Jha From Google 5

Great food. Low prices. Amazing Service. Arabic Shawarma is definitely worth a try.

Mervat Salha From Google 5

Delicious food, excellent service and reasonable price. Captain Ahmad treats you as a VIP. This is my third visit in a week. Highly recommended restaurant
